Welcome to the Cheese and Wine Painting Club with artist Ed Sumner. Based in North London at Finchley Golf Club we run regular painting classes in person at the studio in addition to in-person events at London venues such as The Stag Hampstead. Out of the studio we run Facebook Live free classes and private online events. We aim to connect people across the globe via our art classes.
With no previous experience required you’ll be guided through, step by step, until a series of lines and blobs turns into a finished painting. You could learn to paint iconic pieces based on originals from Monet, Van Gogh, Hockney, Banksy, Cezanne and Basquiat.

Taking a couple of hours out of your day to focus on exploring your creative side can help you unwind and keep your mental health in check. Our classes are suitable for everyone.

Ed Sumner is a professional artist, he does commissions and exhibitions and is willing to take on all artistic challenges. He studied Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores University.
Ed set up Cheese and Wine Painting club in 2014, painting in pubs and private venues. Out of necessity, in order to keep creating, when the Coronavirus pandemic started Ed took Cheese and Wine Painting online, transitioning to Zoom Masterclasses and Facebook Lives ‘free’ with his daughter Daisy. They did every Friday on Facebook Live for 70 weeks.
This introduced a new global audience and created a fantastic community reaching people who previously might not have been able to make it to the pub. It became apparent that the painting club was helping people, giving them something fun to get involved with during isolation.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The club provides painting classes in a variety of forms – in person classes, free Facebook Live’s (including our archive), Zoom Masterclasses, online painting parties and both private and corporate events. We are very active on our Facebook Page and for all other events you can find tickets here. Just follow along as we paint and don’t forget to have fun!
HOW DO I ACCESS YOUR FREE CLASSES?
Our FREE Facebook Live videos can be found on our Facebook Page, there are over 70 to choose from! For a live event, there will be no link, it will be on our Cheese and Wine Painting Club home page (usually at 12.30pm UK on the day).
HOW DO I ORGANISE A PRIVATE PARTY?
Please contact us with any enquiries you may have about private parties. We do both corporate as well as celebratory events. These can be either over zoom or in person! We can travel to you (within reason). Just message for more information.
